Single dose of Pfizer-BioNTech or Oxford-AstraZenca vaccine reduces infection rate by 65%, study finds
LONDON — A single dose of Oxford-AstraZeneca or Pfizer-BioNTech’s Covid-19 vaccine drastically reduces the risk of infection in adults of all ages, British researchers have found.
Two studies released on Friday analyzed more than 1.6 million nose and throat swabs taken from 373,402 people between December and April. The data was collected as part of the ongoing Covid-19 Infection Survey, carried out by the University of Oxford, the U.K.‘s Office of National Statistics and the U.K.’s Department for Health and Social Care.
Researchers found that 21 days after a single dose of either the Oxford-AstraZeneca or the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, new Covid infections — both symptomatic and asymptomatic — had fallen by 65%.
Symptomatic infections fell by 74% three weeks after a single dose of either vaccine, while asymptomatic cases were down by 57%, the data showed.
A second vaccine dose reduced the overall infection rate by 70%, with symptomatic Covid infections down by 90% and asymptomatic cases of the virus cut by 49%.

Vậy là lúc đầu nói là 94% effective rate là 0 đúng. Bây giờ test lại chỉ được 70% effective giống như thằng J&J thôi sao?

Lúc đầu chỉ small data, bây giờ chích nhiều data is big, more accurate

Vậy data của thằng JJ cũng là small sample hay big sample? Nhà tui preferred Pfizer & Moderna vì thấy effective rate nó cao hơn thằng JJ nhiều. Chứ nếu giống như JJ thì nhiều khi phải suy nghỉ lại!

lúc đầu mấy hãng thuốc chỉ test small group nên họ gọi là efficacy, not accurate , giống như estimate
cho nên nhiều scientists có lên tiếng là DO NOT COMPARE efficacy, giống như compare orange v.s apple

Tui thắc mắc là nếu bây giờ mình đả chích Pfizer thì trong tương lại khi làm booster shots vẩn phải chích lại Pfizer hay có thể switch sang Moderna hoặc JJ có sao 0?

you should have pfizer again, maybe moderna vì 2 thằng nầy the same technology derived from SARS, còn JJ thì khác technology , derived from Ebola

Thằng JJ chích có 1 mũi thì cho dù có switch 12 tháng sau thì chắc cũng okay tui nghỉ vậy. Chỉ có là nếu switch từ JJ sang Moderna hay Pfizer thì tui nghỉ phải chích lại 2 mũi mới được.
Hy vọng chích hầm bà lằng 0 bị vật xác luôn.

chị Gà vô trong Culture Channel youtube thì có 1 bác sĩ nói rõ các loại vaccine đó chị, có thê mix and match nhưng chắc em prefer dùng 1 thuốc thôi, nếu có thể

Tui đang đợi để được chích Pfizer/Moderna. Ko biết đến khi nào? Nếu muốn chích AstraZeneca thì tuần sau được chích rồi

Bên tui 60+ được chích Pfizer/Moderna, 45+ được chích AstraZeneca.
