New York subway shooter Frank James sentenced to 10 life terms plus 10 years in prison
The man who set off a smoke bomb and opened fire on a crowded New York City subway train last year, injuring 29 people but miraculously killing none, was sentenced Thursday to 10 concurrent life terms plus a consecutive 10 years in prison.
Frank James pleaded guilty in January to 10 counts of committing a terrorist attack or other violence against a mass transportation vehicle and an additional firearms charge in connection to the April 2022 attack.
Prosecutors had asked the judge for a life sentence, while the shooter’s attorneys asked for 18 years.
James, who was 62 at the time, put on a gas mask, set off a smoke device and fired a handgun at least 33 times on a Manhattan-bound N subway train heading through Brooklyn’s Sunset Park neighborhood during a weekday morning commute, prosecutors have said.

10 life terms hay life sentence thì cũng vậy to him thôi.

Kêu Án 10 lần chung thân là để phòng hờ ông Thống Đốc hay Tổng Thống nào đó có ân xá thì chỉ ân xá 1 lần chung thân thì còn lại 9 lần chung thân thì sẽ mãi mãi không ra cho tới khi đi bán muối .

Họ có quyền ân xá luôn 10 life terms 0 hay mổi người chỉ được ân xá 1 life time thôi?

Theo tui hiểu thì ân xá thì chỉ có 1 .. Trừ khi Tối Cao Pháp Viện phán rằng người này vô tội thì mọi hình phạt đều hủy bỏ hết, hoặc thống đốc làm đơn xin Tối Cao Pháp Viện cho ân xá hoàn toàn và được chấp thuận . Chuyện này sẽ không bao giờ xảy ra . Do đó, thường là cung hình phạt chung thân đều có nhiều lần nếu tội nhân đó giết nhiều người .

Tuy tên này endangered people's lives with his terrorist act. However noone actually died from it.
I am a little surprised on how harsh his sentence is (10 lives sentence plus 10 years prison)!
