This dude said on his Talk Radio that lung cancer due to smoking is a HOAX. He kept on smoking and now paid for it. He is a KING of spreading conspiracies. I don't wanna piss on people who was down, but this is a good karma!

Believe it or not, I used to listen to his programs on talk radio during the 80s and well into the mid 90s.  Rush wasn't that kind of guy like to spread fake news in those time.  He was conservative all right, but not a non-believer in the traditional American way of life.  He wasn't the guy who would be willing to spread dis-information to his listeners.

I believe that things have changed since the day of social media, the kind of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and the likes.  These "tools" have enabled people to hide behind their monitors or their iphones to spread disinformation with no repercussion.  

Time changed and people changed.  Fanaticism overtook honesty and integrity.

I think the "reality shows" on TV changed people. People nowaday are going out of their ways to be controversial to get viewers or "likes". They think if they go along with everyone's opinions then they will be one of the many. They rather stand out so they have to say things opposite of what the norm is.

I think both you and Anh 4K are right. People, especially talk show host or any News shows, will say ANYTHING to get the audience for the $$. That's why he got a huge contract ($400 million) because over 25 million people listened to his talk show every week. Most of his audience are the white right wing nuts and/or Trumpist. So, as long as he keeps fanning their ego and feeds them the misinformation that they want to hear, he'll get pays. EVERYTHING IS FOR THE $$ NOWADAY, unfortunately
