Texas attorney general files lawsuit against Austin leaders over mask requirement
Texas' top law enforcement officer is suing leaders in the state's capital for maintaining local coronavirus mask requirements, saying they illegally defy the governor's order ending a statewide mandate.
The lawsuit, filed Thursday in Travis County District Court, names Austin Mayor Steve Adler, Travis County Judge Andy Brown and Mark Escott, the interim medical director and Health Authority for Austin, as defendants.
State Attorney General Ken Paxton is asking for a temporary restraining order requiring Austin and Travis County officials to refrain from enforcing their mask rules.
Paxton's lawsuit sets the stage for the latest showdown in a long-running, nationwide clash over public health rules that often breaks along political lines. Sixteen states have no statewide mask rule.
Brown's office provided CNN with a statement from the county attorney's office saying they won't "pursue any enforcement actions of this order in deference to the Court."
"The Attorney General's office has filed suit against the City of Austin and Travis County. Travis County has not had to rely on enforcement of its orders to get our community to be responsible. Although the Commissioners Court's order is valid, Travis County will not pursue any enforcement actions of this order in deference to the Court," the statement said.

cha AG của TX này làm nhiều trò điên thí mẹ luôn! Đúng là phát lương cho mấy cha này làm chuyện điên!

Đeo masks có chết thằng ông nội nào đâu mà mấy đứa nó phản kháng quá chừng ..trên tui cũng có 1 đám khùng
TT - chị nghĩ là politics nhiều trong vụ này, nhiều đứa làm vậy để lên mặt ..ai tháo ra tháo, trong thời gian xong chị cũng ráng đeo thêm vài tháng
